Mayes Loses By Split Decision!

Baltimore light heavyweight Henry "Hurricane" Mayes lost a six-round split decision in his rematch against Joe McCreedy of Lowell, MA on the undercard of the ESPN2 card in Lincoln, RI tonight.

No details on the bout yet but Fightnews.com reports that one judge saw the bout for Mayes at 58-57 while McCreedy won on the other two cards, 60-56 and 58-56.

Mayes's record falls to 7-6-1, four KO's while McCreedy's record is now 8-2, five KO's.

Hemphill also lost :(

Digital, what did you think about the commentators (Tessitore?) saying that Hemphill didn't know how to win (or was it how to finish).

That's pretty much the case with Andre, unfortunately. He is a guy who, when facing better competition, does peter out at times. He gets tired.

Hemphill's got good speed and power, got a good repertoire of punches... but can't seem to put together even a double jab, a great tool used by many winning fighters.
