Twelve Beltway Amateurs won gold medals at the recent Arnold Sports Festival this past weekend in Columbus, OH.
The Arnold Festival, named after the current Governor of California (you know who) is a three day event that features a number of sports including boxing.
Congratulations to the following young Beltway Boxers who won gold medals:
Jerome Williams, Washington, DC -- 9/10 age group, 50 pounds
Jordan White, Waldorf, MD -- 9/10 age group, 65 pounds
Gary Antwaan Russell, Capitol Heights, MD -- 11/12 age group, 80 pounds
Kareem Martin, Clinton, MD -- 11/12 age group, 119 pounds
Richard Simon, Clinton, MD -- 11/12 age group, 125 pounds
Romello Webster, Washington, DC -- 13/14 age group, 101 pounds
Preston Holmes, Oxon Hill, MD -- 13/14 age group, 132 pounds
Antonio Russ, Capitol Heights, MD -- 15/16 age group, 101 pounds
Antonio Magruder, Suitland, MD -- 15/16 age group, 114 pounds
Kristian Harris, Fort Washington, MD -- 15/16 age group, 119 pounds
Kevin Ecke, Hagerstown, MD -- 15/16 age group, 138 pounds
Marquis Moore, Fort Washington, MD -- Open, 141 pounds
Also, Hasim Rahman, Jr., now fighting out of Las Vegas, NV, won the gold in the 15/16 age group, 201 pound division.

thats whats up!! every time we send a team of beltway kids somewhere we come back with a few championships i see, i also noticed that antonio magruder is on this list, this is his second national championship in less than a month, WOW !!! that kid is on the roll, i talked to a few coaches and they say he is one of the best we have not only in the beltway but hes ranked #1 now in the country, and is on his way to russia in may to represent the usa in the aliyuv cup,,, now thats whats up!!! way to go lil antonio!!! And congratulations to you and all the other beltway champs who brought home the gold!!
