Super featherweight Daniel "The Prophet" Attah (24-3-1, eight KO's) returns to action on Saturday, March 10 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The Nigerian-born Attah -- who has fought out of the Beltway for a number of years -- will challenge undefeated Mario Santiago (17-0, 12 KO's) for the WBC Caribbean Featherweight title.
At one time Attah, a former NABO Featherweight titleholder, was the top-rated contender for the world championship and challenged former champ Acelino Freitas for the WBO Featherweight champion on August 3, 2002. Attah lost a unanimous decision.
Attah has won his last three bouts over the past three years. Attah last fought in the Beltway area on February 18, 2006 when he won an eight-round majority decision over Isidro Granados at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA.
