Davis won a 5-0 victory against Hovhannes Bachov of Armenia this morning despite being deducted a point in the second round. This was Davis's second victory over Bachov. Davis defeated Bachov at the 2019 World Championships.
Davis will face Andy Cruz of Cuba in the championship on Sunday morning. Cruz has beaten Davis in their three previous meetings. If Davis wins, he will be the first Beltway gold medalist since Andrew Maynard in 1988 as well as the first American lightweight gold medalist since Oscar De La Hoya in 1992.
