Beltway Pros Slated To Compete On Saturday, March 3rd!

A number of local pro boxers are scheduled to be in action on Saturday, March 3rd.  Here is the proposed lineup.

Capitol Heights, MD super lightweight Antuanne Russell (3-0, three KO's) now has an opponent for his six-round contest at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.  Russell will take on Demetrius Wilson of Florissant, MO.  Wilson (2-5) is coming off a four-round majority decision loss to Michael Valentin on February 23rd in Lincoln, RI.  Russell will be the seventh straight undefeated boxer Wilson has faced.

Washington, DC welterweight Shynggyskhan Tazhibay (5-0, two KO's) is still looking for an opponent for his scheduled six-round encounter on this card.

At the Hollywood Casino in Columbus, OH, Baltimore, MD cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner returns to action in a 10-round rematch against Brian Holstein of Westerville, OH.  Kisner defeated Holstein by 10-round majority decision in November of 2016 at the Hollywood Casino and won the vacant NABA USA Cruiserweight title.  Kisner never defended the title so it has been declared vacant and the two men are fighting for it again.

Since their last contest, Kisner (19-4-1, six KO's) scored an eight-round split decision win over Lamont Singletary on March 30th in Glen Burnie, MD.  Then Kisner lost by fourth-round TKO to undefeated Ryan Merhy on December 16th in Charleroi, Belgium.  That bout was for Merhy's WBA Inter-Continental Cruiserweight championship.   Meanwhile, Holstein (13-7-1, seven KO's) lost two more contests, dropping an eight-round unanimous decision to Jeremiah Karpency on March 4th at the Hollywood Casino and was knocked out in the fourth round by Francy Ntetu on June 9th in Verona, NY.  Holstein bounced back into the win column with a six-round majority decision over Lawrence Blakely on November 17th at the Lifestyle Pavilion in Columbus.

Also on March 3rd, Baltimore featherweight Ernest "Lightning" Hall will be in a four-round contest against Ricky Tomlinson of Thonotosassa, FL at Banquet Masters in Clearwater, FL.  Hall (3-0, one KO) makes his first road trip after winning all of his bouts at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD.  Hall won a four-round majority decision over Tyrone Wright in his last outing on July 13th.  Tomlinson (5-3-2, two KO's) broke a three-bout losing streak with a four-round unanimous decision victory over Michael Andrew Gaxiola on November 21st in St. Petersburg, FL.
