WBC Featherweight champion Gary Russell, Jr. along with his brothers Antonio and Antuanne are the featured speakers at an anti-bullying event that will take place today at Center City Public Charter School located at 1503 East Capitol Street in Southeast DC.
Recently, two students -- one in Ohio and one in Colorado -- took their lives after being bullied. About 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The event begins at 2 PM ET.
