Another big opportunity has come for Burke, VA middleweight Antoine "Action" Douglas as he will battle Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan of Cork, Ireland in a 10-round bout for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Middleweight title on Saturday, December 16 at the Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, Canada. The bout will be the co-feature to the WBO Middleweight championship between titleholder Billy Joe Saunders and challenger David Lemieux and will be televised live on HBO.
Douglas (22-1-1, 16 KO's) will be challenging for his sixth regional title, having won the WBC Fecarbox title twice as well as the NABA, WBO International and WBA Fedalatin Middleweight titles. Douglas is coming off a fourth round TKO over Juan DeAlba on July 14th in Miami, OK.
O'Sullivan (26-2, 18 KO's) is riding a four-bout winning streak including a fourth-round TKO over Nick Quigley on September 30th in Boston, MA. O'Sullivan's only losses have come to Saunders and Chris Eubank, Jr., who will be competing for a world title in February of 2018.
