Undefeated Waldorf, MD super lightweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed returns to action in a 10-round contest against Robert "Red Hot" Frankel of Denver, Colorado on Saturday, August 19th at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NB.
Reed (22-0, 12 KO's) last fought on April 8th and won a 10-round unanimous decision over Reyes Sanchez at the MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD. Reed has gone the distance in his last three contests. Reed is ranked number 10 by the WBO.
Frankel (35-17-1, seven KO's) is a former WBC USNBC Super Lightweight titleholder who has fought the likes of former contender Michael Stewart as well as former world champion Paul Spadafora and current WBA Welterweight champ Lamont Peterson, who won an eight-round unanimous decision over Frankel in Little Rock, AK in September of 2005. Frankel last fought on April 8th and won a 10-round unanimous decision over Johnny Rodriguez in Denver.
This bout will be on the undercard of the World Super Lightweight Unification bout between WBC/WBO champion Terrence Crawford and WBA/IBF titleholder Julius Indongo. The Reed/Frankel contest is scheduled to be shown on the ESPN3 channel or the ESPN streaming app.
