Congratulations to three Beltway amateurs who captured titles at the Ringside World Championships at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, MO this past week.
Greenbelt, MD's Amelia Moore won her second straight major amateur championship in July by winning the Ringside title in the Women's Senior Open 141 Pound division. Moore defeated Crystal Aceves of El Paso, TX in the championship bout. Earlier in the month, Moore won her first Women's National Golden Gloves championship.
Maximus Garland of Waldorf, MD won the Boys Junior Open (15-16) title at 125 pounds with a victory over Angel Garcia of Laredo, TX. Also, Washington, DC's Adam Weers, who serves as the chair of the DC Boxing And Wrestling Commission, captured his second straight Ringside title in the Men's Masters division with a win over Alfonso Vasquez of St. Paul, MN.
