Pro boxing returns to Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD on Friday, May 12th as Baltimore Pro Boxing Promotions brings an exciting main event to the card.
Baltimore, MD cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner will make the first defense of his NABA Cruiserweight title against former NABA champion Alex Guerrero of Salisbury, MD. The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.
Kisner (19-3-1, six KO's) fought on the last card at Michael's, winning an eight-round split decision over Lamont Singletary on March 30th. Kisner won the NABA title on November 23 with a 10-round majority decision over Brian Holstein in Columbus, OH.
Guerrero (12-1-1, six KO's) captured the vacant NABA title with an eight-round stoppage of Anthony Ferrante in November of 2014 in Wilmington, DE. However, in his next outing, Guerrero lost by first-round TKO to Brian Howard in September of 2015 in Queens, NY. Guerrero has not competed since that loss.
The two men are no strangers to each other as they battled each other twice in the amateurs, including once at the 2008 Washington Golden Gloves. Kisner won both contests.
There will also be a super middleweight battle of Baltimore as "Dangerous" Donald Wallace will face off against Devin Butcher. Wallace (2-0, one KO) fought on the January 13th card at Michael's and won a six-round unanimous decision over Tahir Thomas. Butcher (6-1, three KO's) bouncoed back from suffering his first pro loss by winning a four-round unanimous decision over Eric Govan on November 12th at DuBurns Arena in Baltimore.
Other boxers slated to be on this card are Baltimore heavyweight Colby Madison (4-0, three KO's), West Virginia welterweight Matthew "Boogieman" Bowling (4-0, four KO's) and 2012 Dominican Republic Olympian Wellington Arias Romero of Newburgh, NY (12-0-1, six KO's. Romero, a welterweight, is a Roc Nation-signed prospect.
