Hernandez Harrison Scheduled To Face LaManna For USBA Welterweight Title September 16 In Atlantic City!

BATB is hearing reports that undefeated Washington, DC welterweight Dusty Hernandez Harrison will battle with Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna of Millville, NJ in a contest for the vacant USBA Welterweight title.  The bout is scheduled to be held on Friday, September 16 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ.

The bout has not been officially announced, however, both boxers are claiming it is a done deal.  Hernandez Harrison (29-0-1, 16 KO's) is ranked number one in the most recent USBA rankings despite battling to a 10-round split decision draw against Mike Dallas on May 13 at the DC Armory in Washington, DC.  LaManna (21-1, nine KO's) made a recent drop to the welterweight rankings and is listed fourth by the USBA.  LaManna last fought on July 22 and scored a first-round TKO over Engleberto Valenzuela at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.

This will be LaManna's third time facing a Beltway Boxer.  In March of 2013, LaManna won a six-round unanimous decision over Joshua Snyder in Atlantic City. Then in March of 2015, LaManna was stopped in the sixth-round by Antoine Douglas on a nationally-televised (ShoBox on Showtime) card in Westbury, NY.  Both those fights took place in the middleweight division.

Another local boxer is ranked in the USBA Welterweight rankings -- Gerome Quigley of Gaithersburg, MD (15-0, 14 KO's) is listed ninth.
