Upper Marlboro, MD lightweight Lamont Roach, Jr. won an eight-round unanimous decision over a very tough Jesus Lule of Fort Myers, FL tonight at the DC Armory.
Roach dropped Lule with a flurry of punches in the first round then had to work hard the rest of the way as Lule showed his toughness throughout the rest of the bout. Roach went eight rounds for the first time in his career and raised his record to 10-0, four KO's. Lule, who took the bout on two days notice, dropped to 8-16-1, one KO.
The Rashidi Ellis- Marco Lopez bout was scratched because of medical issues with Lopez.
