Interesting boxing press from a non-boxing source. The Baltimore Business Journal has an article on Baltimore promoter and gym owner Jake "The Snake" Smith who celebrated more than 20 years in those roles.
The former Baltimore pro has been one of the more consistent pro and amateur promoters during that 20-year-plus period as he has had memorable shows at such locations as Du Burns Arena, the Pikesville Armory, Martin's West and Michael's Eighth Avenue.
Also, a number of quality boxers have come out of his gym in the Fells Point section of Baltimore.
The next Baltimore Boxing amateur card will be on Thursday, March 10 at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD.
