Capitol Heights, MD's Gary Antuanne Russell is only two bouts away from earning a spot on the United States Olympic Team.
Russell won his Challenger's Bracket final bout in the 141-Pound division with a 3-0 decision over Rahim Gonzales of Sylmar, CA Friday in Reno, NV. The victory forces a rematch with Winner's Bracket champion Jaron Ennis of Philadelphia, PA tonight. Ennis knocked Russell into the Challenger's Bracket on the opening day of competition.
Russell will have to defeat Ennis tonight to force a third bout between the two on Sunday.
