The final Beltway pro boxing card of 2015 will take place on Saturday, December 12 at the Coppermine Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, MD. This will be a Shawstyle Promotions/Shabazz Productions card.
In an eight-round contest, Baltimore cruiserweight Travis "Seveer" Reeves will take on Anthony Caputo Smith of Kennett Square, PA. Reeves (10-2-1, four KO's) has won seven straight bouts including a sixth-round knockout of Samar Barakat on July 9 at the Tall Cedar's Hall in Baltimore. Smith (15-6, 10 KO's) was stopped in the first round in his last bout against undefeated Keith Tapia on September 18 in Atlantic City, NJ. Smith has lost four straight against quality opposition including Tapia, Garrett Wilson, Ola Afolabi and BJ Flores.
Undefeated Baltimore super lightweight Malik "Iceman" Hawkins will battle Jose Valderrama of Manati, Puerto Rico in a four-round contest. Hawkins (4-0, four KO's) stopped Theophilus Newkirk on June 13 in Charlotte, NC in his last bout. Valderrama (4-11, three KO's) makes his second straight trip to the Beltway region. Valderrama will try to bounce back from a sixth-round TKO loss to David Grayton on August 28 at the Washington Convention Center.
Baltimore middleweight Devin Butcher looks to remain undefeated in a four-round bout against fellow Maryland boxer Darryl Watkins. Butcher (4-0, two KO's) will try to build off of a first-round knockout of Walter McCray on June 20 at Martin's West in Woodlawn, MD. Watkins (0-1) made his pro debut on November 21 and lost a decision to Keith Robertson in Norfolk, VA.
Another Baltimore middleweight -- Jerome Featherstone -- will be in action on this card taking on debuting Gregory Clark of Washington, DC. Featherstone (1-0) won his pro debut on November 14 with a four-round unanimous decision over Bobby Gaither in Springfield, VA. Clark is a former DC Novice Golden Gloves champion.
Baltimore light heavyweight Stephon Morris makes his pro debut against Casanova Brooks of Atlanta, GA in a four-round bout. Morris is a former Washington Golden Gloves competitor. Brooks (0-1) has not fought since making his pro debut against Devin Goins in November of 2013 in Atlanta. Brooks lost a four-round unanimous decision.
Canadian super welterweight Cody Crowley (5-0, three KO's) will be on the card in a four-round bout against Kevin Cooper of South Carolina (1-4, one KO). Crowley, of Douro, Ontario, Canada, scored a first-round TKO over Alan Beeman on September 26 in Norfolk, VA. Cooper won his pro debut in October of 2014 but has since lost four in a row.
As a special attraction on this card, former undisputed world heavyweight champion and Beltway Boxing legend Hasim "The Rock" Rahman will participate in a four-round exhibition bout against Robert Dunton of Wilmington, DE (11-15-1, six KO's). Rahman will also watch his son, Sharif, make his pro debut as he takes on Alex Asbury of Charlotte, NC (0-3).
