Undefeated Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard won a six-round unanimous decision over Fabiano "Pit Bull" Pena of Los Angeles, CA Saturday at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY.
Boxing writers called the win a methodical one for Ballard who won a shutout (60-54) on all three judge's cards. Ballard raised his record to 11-0, seven KO's while Pena falls to 11-4-1, eight KO's.
Meanwhile, in Nykoping, Sweden, former WBO Super Lightweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley of Washington, DC lost by fourth-round TKO to undefeated Anthony Yigit of Stockholm, Sweden. According to reports, Corley got off to a good start in the bout, but as the rounds progressed, Corley told reporters his timing was off. Corley did not leave his stool after the third round.
Corley has lost four straight bouts and is now 42-26-1, 25 KO's. Yigit, who represented Sweden in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, is now 16-0-1, seven KO's.
