Thompson Drops Unanimous Decision; Davis Stops Cruz in Three In Orlando!

Tony "The Tiger" Thompson of DC has lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Malik Scott of Philadelphia, PA Friday night at the Venue at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  The bout was televised on Bounce TV.

Thompson fell behind early in the contest and, despite knocking down Scott in the ninth round, could not catch back up.  Thompson lost by scores of 98-91, 96-93 and 95-94.  Thompson may have also lost an opportunity to face WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who was sitting at ringside providing guest commentary on the telecast.

Thompson falls to 40-6, 27 KO's while Scott's record rises to 38-2-1, 13 KO's,

Also on the telecast, Baltimore, MD featherweight Gervonta "Tank" Davis remained undefeated with a sterling third-round TKO of former IBF Featherweight champion Cristobal Cruz of Tijuana, MX.  Davis dropped Cruz in the first and third rounds before the bout was stopped at 1:31.

Mayweather Promotions was the promoter of the bout and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was at ringside on behalf of Davis, who is now 13-0, 12 KO's.  Cruz falls to 40-19-4, 24 KO's.
