Recap From The Show Place Arena!

Here is the recap from the Keystone Boxing "Showdown at Show Place" card at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD:

Accokeek, MD junior middleweight "Swift" Jarrett Hurd won a six-round unanimous decision over Greg Hackett of Philadelphia, PA.  Hurd won a very awkward bout by scores of 60-54 (twice) and 59-55.  Hurd remains undefeated at 6-0, three KO's.  Hackett falls to 2-11, one KO.

Waldorf, MD junior welterweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed needed just 31 seconds to stop Cassius Clay of Las Vegas, NV. Reed landed a left hand to the body that Clay could not recover from.  Reed is now 2-0, two KO's while Clay is 0-8.

Junior lightweight Kevin "K-Smoov" Rivers, Jr. of Palmer Park, MD stopped Carlos Alcala of Hillside, IL in the third round. Rivers dropped his opponent twice in the second and then forced the referee to stop the contest at 1:39 of the third.  Rivers is now 6-0, five KO's while Alcala was making his pro debut.

Baltimore, MD featherweight Gervonta "Rambo" Davis won by second-round TKO over the debuting Jacob Ninow of Wheaton, IL.  Davis d"ropped Ninow with a solid uppercut early in the second and a later flurry stopped the contest at 2:04.  Davis is 2-0, two KO's.

Frederick, MD middleweight Devar "The Warrior" Ferhadi won a tough, four-round unanimous decision over PJ Cajigas of Franklin Park, IL  Ferhadi made nice adjustments to his game plan against a very game opponent.  Ferhadi is now 3-0, two KO's.  Cajigas is 0-1-1.

Cruiserweight Mario Murphy of Capitol Heights, MD won a four-round majority decision over Damion Reed of Danville, VA.  Murphy showed solid defense throughout the contest.  Murphy is 2-0 while Reed is 2-11-1, one KO.

Alexandria, VA junior welterweight "The Baby-Face Assassin" Yurii Polishchuk made his pro debut a successful one with a first-round TKO over the equally-debuting Alexandria boxer Demetrius Winbush.  Polishchuk opened the bout with a flurry of punches that dropped Winbush and made the bout pretty easy, eventually stopping Winbush at 2:36 of the contest.
