Four Beltway Boxers Participating In US Women's Olympic Trials!

Four local young ladies will represent the Beltway at the first-ever Women's US Olympic Team Boxing Trials in Spokane, WA beginning tonight. The entire double-elimination tournament will be shown on a live stream provided by Universal Sports beginning each night at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT on this page:

Here is how the locals look on the bout sheet:

Baltimore, MD's Tyrieshia Douglas will be in the fourth bout of the evening (112 Pounds winners bracket) against Latonya King (Wingate) of Harrison Township, MI.

DC's Asia Stevenson will participate in the seventh bout of the evening (132 Pounds winners bracket) and take on N'yteeyah Sherman of Barberton, OH.

The ninth bout of the night (165 pounds winners bracket) will feature Baltimore's Franchon Crews who will battle Flint, MI's Claressa Shields. Crews is the reigning national champion at 165 pounds.

Alexandria, VA's Dara Shen will follow in the 10th bout (165 pounds winners bracket) when she faces Andrecia Wasson of Centerline, MI.

The champions in each of the three weight divisions at the Olympic Trials will move on to the 2012 Women’s World Championships in Qinhuangdao, China, where they will need to place in the top eight to earn berths in the 2012 Olympic Games.
