Harrison Receives Sage Advice From Bernard Hopkins!

Juan Marshall, whose photography studio is one of the sponsors of the Boxing Along The Beltway Post-Fight Wrap-Up, shot this great video during Peterson-Khan week. The oldest boxer to win a world title -- Bernard Hopkins -- is shown giving great advice to the youngest boxer in the United States, DC's own Dusty Harrison. This video is short but it really says a lot!

Bernard Hopkins was/is a great fighter but it was a huge disappointment when he fought Calzaghe and he said what he said. Can you imagine if Calzaghe said I will never lose to a black dude? Good God Almighty it would be like World War III!

And the thing about Henry Jones. He's always going to be black so if he fails in his mind it's because he's black. Seems to me that he's fears success and he's got a perfect excuse why everything doesn't go his way.

It's 2011 almost 2012. Live ya life baby!

Calzaghe
Was the best fighter on the planet.
Hopkins like Jones won't ever be able to shake the rascist attitude they have been taught since childbirth.
Just facts and I'm a black man.

What does the discussion about Jones have to do with this video?

Answer: Absolutely NOTHING!!!

It's so easy to stir people up on this blog.

Yes, it has everything to do with it! Jonesy and Hoppy cry the black card when both have worked and done very well. Tell you what Hopppy and Jonesy, give all your proceeds to other black folks out here that need it.

And yes, I am black too. The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice!

Hopkins may have meant what he said to Joe Calzaghe but more than anything I think he was shooting to have Joe resort to fighting on emotion, just as he did Felix Trinadad. And before we get all fussy over race let's not forget Ali used the race card against Frazier. It is just a psychological tactic. Both men's legacies are bigger than what they said going into matches.

It wasn't used as a tactic they meant it,Jack

Sage advice my nuts! Of all the things that have been said on this blog nothing has offended me but this video comes close. Here you have a documented racist in Bernard Hopkins talking jibberish about adding on to your house to a 17 year old white fighter who is just nodding because he has no idea what Hopkins means. And to the guy that says that it's a psychological tactic that's some bullshit. Can you imagine if any of our local white fighters said I'm going to bust your (N expletive) ass! People's jaws would drop and it would make national news. That fighter's career would be over! And if the fighter came back and said he didn't mean it, it was just a psychological tactic - how would that be received?

And you mentioned Ali and Frazier. Ali called Joe a Gorilla! Can you imagine if a white fighter called a black fighter a gorilla? Well Hopkins called Calzaghe a white boy and it made a ripple but not much more.

Let's face it, Ali was a straight up asshole for saying what he said to Joe Frazier and countless other opponents. He said he was just trying to promote the fight or get a psychological edge. Bullshit! He should be remembered for what he is - a straight up first class jerk!

A black man can never be called either of these things when it comes to dealing wth a 'white man': snitch and/or racist; for obvious reasons. See Yaku/Jacob, grafting skin and creating a lighter hue. A white man has to watch his mouth. II Timothy: 'Study to shew thyself approved.'

Racist?!

Before everybody gets all worked up remember This Dusty Kid ain't all white .I believe he's mixed

Its not about Dusty being white or not. Its about the racist that Hopkins is.

I told you that a white man has to watch his mouth. Explain to me how a white man can call a black man a racist. A white man saying such is an absolute form of invalidity, or illegitimacy. There's a thing thats available, known as a 'grip'; grab hold, squeeze tight, smooth-stroke it. Just don't let it go; its a grip. Step y'alls valid/legit game up. What your talking is like saying the Bible/Q'uran is invalid, and that men kissing men is.

Where is Henry Jones when you need a crybaby who uses his color not his skills to get ahead? come on Henry, you know you are reading this slim! Yes, I am black, made it on my own, and never cried about the racism that exists, it only made me work harder. Work hard Henry, get off Michael Buffer's white nut sac and then, get a better wardrobe you played out bama!

Signed-
One proud black man! Stop the crying in 2012!
