We might see a rematch on this one. Kennedy was down when Shaw hit him again, and then the ref called the fight. You can expect Kennedy's camp to file a protest.

Probably won't see a rematch, Shah had too much range and power for Kennedy. Kennedy was out after the first punch, and the 2nd punch landed just as Kennedys glove was about to touch the mat. The referee made a good stoppage.

Good stopage ,don't believe Kennedy's glove or knee was on the ground when shah cracked him the second time.
congradulations Zain.

Wow I am surprised.... Kennedy was clearly down, then Shah hit him the second time. Terrible call by a brutal ref.. In fact the entire VA commission from judges, refs and the commissioner himself Pat Benetar should re-think their standing on the commission.

These people are as bad as it gets. The have Zero people skills and their understanding of the game is kindergardenish

Hey Brian you know fighters are instructed to protect themselves at all times, and a fighter is going to punch until he sees knees or a glove on the mat, it's part of the sport.

If you have a problem with the VA Boxing Comission, I don't see how that reflects on this fight.

Most importantly, I do not see how you can have a problem with Pat Benetar, Love is a Battlefield is a great classic hit song from the 80s. Whats your problem man?

His knee and glove were clearly on the mat, and the referee's fall under the commissions rule so hence the commission sux to. Protect yourself at all times, you are also instructed when you knock someone down you don't hit them.

No problem with Benetar its the commissioners hairdo, or better yet hair don't were the problem is lying

I don't know which brian this is but you are no more than an insect. What makes you such an authority on the commission. The man probobly has forgotten more than you will ever know.

Kennedy had hit the mat with his knee and glove but was on his way back up when Shah landed the second barrage.

Well not quite an authority, but I have served on a State Commission. Although not Virginia's. Just my opinion, the commish AT LEAST to ME is very unapproachable, and has a great opportunity to right several wrongs with the people under his command and does NOTHING.

Referee Waleed shouldn't be allowed to ref a fourth grade dodge ball game.

Look at the film I think you will find the guy was on the way back up when he was attacked the second time.

just watched a tape. you can see the right glove hits the ground and then he gets tapped with another shot.

If you see the tape, Kennedy is hit with the first right by Shah and it send him on his way down, Shah then follows it up with another right as Kennedy's glove touches the mat. In real time it would have been difficult to ascertain when the punch occured before or after Kennedy's glove was on the mat. At no point whatsoever was Kennedy's knees on the mat before the 2nd shot.

I do not think Shah was malicious with that 2nd right, he was doing his job as a fighter. I think Waleed made the right decision in calling the fight when he did protecting Kennedy.

The comission can only look at things as they happened, there is no instant replay in boxing, I think when that is taken into consideration, everything was done according to the book.

Well I agree with Zain should have followed up, however JK was clearly down when hit the second time and thats a fact. I also think ZS was well on his way to stopping JK, Waleed blew it plain and simple, and as I heard it that night, he himself said JK was already down.

that wasn't the only thing Waleed missed that night. Leblanc got dropped early in the second and it wasn't scored for Stewart, Waleed is always a step behind and his angle is always wrong. its a matter of time before he gets someone severly hurt. I hope its not one of my guys.

The first knock down in the second round: Kennedy's knee and glove touched, I saw that but he started to get up, and by doing that you are putting yourself back in the line of fire…so I went for the kill...missed and the Ref stepped in. The Second knock down: He started to go down, he was in a squat...I saw that his knees were no where near the canvas and neither was his left hand, I could not see he his right hand from my line of sight...so I went in and hit him again...and when the Ref stepped in...I stopped. It's unfortunate, but I did nothing wrong from my point of view in the ring. Here a video link and you can see what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1odWafYyf8&feature=share

This fight should be a NC. Regardless if it was intentional or not, JK was down when the second punch stopped him from continuing.

Arthur Abraham was DQ'd for this same exact thing.
