Baltimore, MD middleweight Franchon Crews was the only United States winner in the first round of Pan American Games qualifying in Quito, Ecuador on Monday night.
Crews defeated Kimberly Gittens of Barbados, 22-0 in competition. The female boxers need to move on to the championship bout to earn a spot at the Pan Am Games in October.
By the way, local boxing trainer Floyd Seymour is the coach of the team from The Bahamas.
