Lange to Battle for NABA Junior Middleweight Title Nov. 6 at Patriot Center!

Great Falls, VA junior middleweight Jimmy Lange returns to action on Saturday, November 6 at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Lange will battle for top 20 contender Joe Wyatt of Richmond, VA for the vacant North American Boxing Association (NABA) Junior Middleweight title. The NABA is a division of the World Boxing Association (WBA).

Lange (33-4-2, 23 KO's) won a six-round unanimous decision over Mike McFail of Baltimore in August in Greensboro, NC. Lange will be headlining a Patriot Center show for the 11th time. Wyatt (23-1, 15 KO's) will return to the ring for the first time since suffering his only pro loss -- a seventh-round stoppage at the hands of Reda Zam Zam for the WBA Inter-Continental junior middleweight title on June 9, 2006 in Aarhus, Denmark.

Other details are starting to emerge about this card. Undefeated Fairfax, VA welterweight Todd "White Lightning" Wilson (8-0, two KO's) is slated to participate in his first scheduled six-round contest.

Manassas, VA featherweight "The Bolivian Queen" Jennifer Salinas will make her fourth appearance at the Patriot Center against an opponent to be named later. Salinas (11-2, four KO's) will be trying to bounce back from her loss against Nathalie Forget at the last Patriot Center show in July.

Making his return to Fairfax, VA will be Martinsburg, WVA middleweight Perry Ballard, who participated on the very first Patriot Center card in September of 2005 in an exciting battle against Lange. Ballard (20-2-1, 15 KO's) fought to a draw in his last outing and lost to former world champion Hector Camacho, Sr. three years ago.

Also slated to appera on this card will be Alexandria, VA's Brandon Quarles (2-0) who will face Lawrence Jones of Chantilly, VA (3-2-2, one KO) in a four-round, all-Virginia matchup. Quarles made his pro debut on the July Patriot Center card and won a tough four-round unanimous decision over Vincent Batteast.. Jones clashed heads with Tony Jeter on that same show and their bout was stopped in the first round. Undefeated Annandale, VA middleweight Zain "Tiger" Shah (3-0, two KO's) is also scheduled to be part of the card.

imanoilA damn discrace.
It looks good on paper but all they did was find somebody who had a good record and who had retired and paid him good to get off of the couch and come and take a dive for Lange.Gary when are you going to stop upholding this garbage. You have been in the busniess long enough to know the deal here. Before long you will be losing your credability. And Perry Ballard for christ sake.Johnny Lange you have really hit the bottom of the pit.I see you have a couple of people who can fight a little bit in the fight with Quarles and Jones.I would encourage everyone to go to Magruders show if they want to see real fights. You will have to pay for your tickets there but you will se real fights.Lange might give you a ticket but you will see garabge on his show

Saw Wyatt sparing a couple weeks ago. He's in fantastic shape. Doesn't just look good on paper -- looks good in real life. Going to be a great fight.

Joe Wyatt is no cake walk for Lange and there are some very competitive fights on that card I was told.

Wyatt is in great shape and is a tough customer

Nice card, thanks

Good to see ballard back he's good

Do you people know how obvious you
sound ,quit trying to give this card credability. You are all a bunch of liars and cheats. You have fooled the public long enough.
PS. The Elder Lange needs a haircut.

is this the same Joe Wyatt who used to fight out of PA?

"Lange might give you a ticket but you will see garabge on his show"

Here we go again. An annonymous troll trying to keep people from buying tickets by spewing out the ill logic that everybody else is getting in for free.

How many of these shows has Johnny Lange done? You don't keep renting out the Patriot Center again and again if you don't make make money. And you don't make money by giving tickets away.

So who is the co-main? From this list, it looks like it would have to be Perry Ballard, as he was part of the main event card at the first Patriot Center show. But I'm wondering if they are holding off on naming the co-main, perhaps to increase the impact when it is announced?

Worked out with Wyatt in Philly in early August -- he's strong as an ox and his cardio is there. Lange-Wyatt will be good. The rest of the card look OK too. Going to be strong night.

wyatt is a tough customer.this is a good test. the fact remains - their arent many Jimmy langes out there. He always gives it good fight. I cant remember a boring show at the patriot center.

again, will you people please stop? Magruder has stolen your thunder.

Anonymous said...

Correction..... Jimmy Lange did not stop Mike Mcfail in Greenboro N.C. rather the fight went the distance. You know that fighters take great pride in going the distance and he did.

I can see it now.
Perry Ballard gets a couple more easy wins and then the Lange camp says,Hey wouldn't this be a great rematch.Jimmy Lange VS Perry Ballard for the main event at the Patriot center, Say in maybe February.
Remember you heard it first here
on WWKRP in Washington DC.

i dont get it, by continually critisizing and hating on Jimmy Lange, you get what?
His success must have really touched a nerve with you ..Dont you have anything better to do? i got some flyers you could hand out???

Every time he fights he gets cririsized because they pay people to play dead for him and if they don't he gets beat up badly. He hasn't did anything to hurt me personally but it does annoy me that they play everybody in the boxing community for a sucker by trying to slip people like this guy wyatt in after he had been retired and home on the couch. Like one of the previous writers said,It's so obvious what you people are trying to do.

It wasn't appearant to me until one of the previous writers brought it to our attention what was going on with Lange but after he put things into proper perspective it's not hard to understand the phisod that has been put up at the patriot center
shows.Best wishes for Jimmy Lange but he really should consider doing something else to make a living.
PS.please no more smoke and Johnny cash music.

Lange is tough as nails and tries his best, what else is there to say? There are other boxers with more God-given talent, but with half the heart -- Anthony Peterson for one. As a paying fan, I want to see a fighter with the heart of a lion. Jimmy has that.

I like the smoke and Johnny Cash music. And it's technically a Johnny Cash mash (with Metallica.)

Huh? I've been to every Patriot Center boxing show since the first with Perry Ballard, and I can't think of any opponents who have "played dead." If anything, Jimmmy Lange's opponents have come to life and fought much better than they appeared on paper.

Jonathan Reid is a perfect example. He was coming off of a string of post-Contender losses and, on paper at least, should have been of minimal resistance to Lange.

But Reid layed out an impressive amount of punishment before he finally had taken too many Lange shots and failed to answer the bell late in the fight.

It wasn't that Lange was sloppy that night, it was just that Reid rose to the occasion and gave him a lot more than most people, myself included, ever would have imagined.

Thinking back, just about every Lange opponent at those Patriot Center shows has risen to the occasion and put on a worthy showing.

To exactly which "playing dead" performances were you referring? And feel free to put your name behind your words.

I'm not a Jimmy Lang fan either but Lange is among the toughest boxers in the area.

Anonymous said...

you can criticize the Langes all you want but the bottom line is this is a business. As long as people are willing to pay to see Jimmy fight anyone...why should they stop?

Anonymous said...

I will give you that Reid put up a good fight but the bottom line
is that he quit ,and we don't know why.The playing dead,s I would be refering to would be, well lets see .How about his last fight?I may have only been in and around this sport for about 7 or 8 years but I know what I saw and the guy took a dive.If you don't know any better than that then you shouldn't be voicing your opinion about my opinion. Your just one of those nutswingers who suck up to that group of people involved with the patriot center shows.Hey how about Perry Ballard? Was he a real world Champion? You fucking idot I'll bet you answered yes. This is the kind of deciet and bullshit that gives boxing the big black eye. How about when Lange stepped up in competition What happened then?
K.O. T.K.O Do these letters refresh your memory. And the fight with Chase sheilds should have been stopped,Lange suffered brain damage in that fight and shouldn't be allowed to fight anymore.Shame on you Daddy Lange.
Does being a promoter mean that mutch to you that you would sacrifice your own son.

"K.O. T.K.O Do these letters refresh your memory."

I'm joining this conversation late. But to correct for the record, Jimmy Lange has never been KO'd, and his one TKO was to a guy who later tested positive for SIX banned substances.

Anonymous said...

Boy you won't quit will you .
Tested posative for steroids.
Then let Lange do steroids and then try to fight. The guy would still Ko him. Again the Chase Sheilds fight should have been stopped I can promise you that Jimmy suffered brain damage from a fighter that couldn't really punch. Can you deny that his speech and his motor skills aren't fucked up? No I didn't think so.Pappa Lange you should be put in the ring and made to pay for what you are doing to your Son.
Someone who cares.

Anyays...quarles/jones and shah/sims promise to be good fights. I am looking forward to those two.

Last fight Jimmy LeBlanc 3 broken ribs, hardly quit. Not sure about the rest of you blogthugs, but I can't even go the bathroom with broken ribs, let alone fight.

Did LeBlanc take a knee after the ribs were broke, yes he did. Did he take a dive? hell no. And for the lad that has been in the sport for 7 or 8 years, try braking your ribs, then just hit a heavy bag or shadow box, then come back and tell us he quit.

Anonymous said...

Brian you probobly set the fight up for Lange so of course you are going to say the things your saying. You are swinging right from the Langes nutsacks just as one of the previous writers put it
Anyone who talks to Jimmy can tell it's time for him to cash em in.Pappa Lange as well as the rest of you people involved in this phisod at the patriot center should be really ashamed .Anybody who knows boxing knowsw the deal with Jimmys fights and even some of the ordinary people are reading between the lines.
Your gig is up Guys.
Signed
Yo Big Daddy

Brian you probobly set the fight up for Lange

Did you even watch the fight? look at the pictures on the internet and you might see that Brian is right on what he posted, or maybe have a talk with Leblanc? this blog has a few people where you have to say to yourself what the hell.

But then again a post like what you posted is one of them (What the hell)

Leblanc was paid to do a number
so I am supposed to believe some
fucking story he might tell me about how great Jimmy Lange is.
Leblanc was kicking Langes ass and then he suddenly stopped after the first round just like he was supposed to and allowed Lange to come at him with punches
from all over the place and then he started going down even before he was hit.
You people have pulled your shit long enough.
You are what has been a discrace to the sport for years.
