Coleman-Holt Bout Off; Could Peterson Face Holt Instead?

For reasons still completely unknown, the proposed IBF Title Elimination bout between Baltimore junior welterweight Tim "Pitbull" Coleman and former WBO champion Kendall Holt has been called off. Reportedly both camps claim money and cowardice issues against each other.

Now comes word from AOL Boxing Fanhouse Editor Lem Satterfield that, fresh off his solid, but unsuccessful try for the WBO Junior Welterweight title, DC's Lamont Peterson may face Holt in the co-feature bout on a card slated for June 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, if Holt is successful in a bout next month.

Here is the link to Satterfield's article breaking this story:

Satterfield also talked to Peterson about this situation as well as his bout with Timothy Bradley last December. That interview can be found here:

This should be a good comeback fight for Lamont, he should be able to out box Holt easy. Let's get back on the championship track!!!

first of all yes he did loose to bradley, but ass whipping i would not call it, a loss yes, got dam why cant we pick our fighters up in the area, to my knowledge that man has done nothing but be humble to all pepole he encounters, but on this site, it seems like a lot of people want to just bash him why? mechanic

I'm pulling for Lamont, and I actually became a bigger fan of his after the fight than before the fight because he showed tremendous heart in the bout. But how can you lose every round of a fight and NOT call it an ass whipping! He got his ass whipped, I hate to tell you. He'll be back, and hopefully improved, but he Bradley did whip that ass!

Lamont
has shown nothing but class and you are walking on the fighting
side of me when you talk all that smack.Rember this my friends. What goes around comes around. You may not even be involved in boxing but rest assured yours will come back on you in a diffrent more harsh way than just the garbage you talk on here about others.

Lamont carries himself with class and dignity and he's a damn good fighter. Perhaps instead of an ass whipping, we should call it a one sided loss. He showed tremendous heart because he fought a guy in Bradley who is apparently on his way to being an upper echelon fighter.

And who's the Merle Haggard fan here talking about: "Walkin on the fightin' side of me!" -- I love it! And it's good you have Lamont's back, that's the way it ought to be! He'll be back!

you don't have to ask many people
around here to find out who Dr Ditter is.
PS. Matchups make fights and I believe Lamont will win a title
and not to far in the future.

not sure if its a good idea to comeback and fight a former champion for his next fight. another confidence builder fight may be needed. after all, he is coming off his first loss....
