Bynum, Kisner, Rivers Head to Mexico for AIBA Youth Championships!

Later this week, three of our Beltway amateurs will head to Guadalajara, Mexico for the first-ever AIBA Youth World Championships.

United States Under-19 champions Traon Bynum of Fort Washington, MD (lightweight and the US Under-19 Championship tournament's Outstanding Boxer) and Nick Kisner of Glen Burnie, MD (heavyweight) along with Under-19 silver medalist Kevin Rivers, also of Fort Washington (featherweight) are among the 11 members of the US Under-19 team that will compete at the Avila Camacho Gymnasium.

The team has been training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO since October 13 and will leave for Mexico after wrapping up training tomorrow. The championships get underway on October 25 and will run until November 1.

Our very own Barry Hunter served as one of the training camp coaches during the period in Colorado Springs.
