L. Peterson Stops Castaneda in Ninth Round!

Lamont Peterson remained undefeated with a demonstrative ninth-round TKO over veteran Rogelio Castaneda of Sacramento, CA tonight at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Peterson threw nice, accurate combinations throughout the contest eventually wearing the game veteran down. Peterson dropped Castaneda in the ninth round and then finished the job well enough for Castaneda's corner to throw in the towel at 2:50 of the round.

Peterson is now 25-0, 12 KO's. He has scored stoppages in four of his last five bouts. Castaneda falls to 24-14-3, eight KO's.

Dominant, utterly dominant. I agree w/ the commentators that Castaneda's tough, and I agree that Lamont should've finished him earlier, but he utterly DOMINATED that fight.

Yeah, I saw that fight. Torres was winning, but Holt landed an absolutely DEVASTATING KO punch. Possibly the most brutal punch I've seen since Darnell KOed Nwodo.

Looked like an accidental headbutt set up the knockout, though.

As far as Lamont is concerned, that was a real solid performance. Maybe Peterson could have finished him earlier, but that would be nitpicking a great performance.

I put in the stat about stoppages in four of his last five bouts because it does show that the power is definitely improving for Lamont. It will be interesting to see if the Holt camp decides to give Lamont a title shot later this year.

True about the accidental headbutt, but still, what a punch. I'd love to see a rubber match.

And yeah, that would be nitpicking about Lamont. He absolutely DOMINATED that fight all the way through.

Nobody should even think about
criticizing Lamont about any part of that fight. He is probobly the most accurate puncher fighting out there today.Just a beautiful performance by Lamont.
Congradulations to both Peterson brothers for their continued sucess
And let us not forget the brains behind these two from the very beginning.Kudo's to Barry Hunter

Lamont looked great! He could have finished Casanda off sooner if he wanted. However, he waited and it paid off in a big way. Trust me, both of the Peterson brothers know exactly what they are doing inside the ring. They are boxing and picking their shots like a sharp shooter in the Navy Seals.
I think everything is going well in the entire camp. I would only change one thing and that's the ridiculious hand signs that Mr. Barry Hunter. I was at Paper Bag's house watching the fight with over 20 other local boxing fans and each of them just about fell out laughing when the hand signs go up.
If you look closely you will see Barry and Patrice checking others signals out to make sure they got it right. It's hillarious and I think a class team like that needs to stop it immediatley. They do not belong to a street gang and need to stop it as soon as possible. They are a professional team and they need to act like it.
Why waste time in the dressing room practicing hand signals when you have a top contender fighting?
I do think that both Peterson brothers will become world champions within 1 year. Barry has done a great job leading them in the right direction. Throw away the hand signals, stop giving everyone something to laugh about and keep up the great work you are doing with the Peterson Brothers.

Barry Hunter...good man. It's interesting (and sad) to think of what Mike Tyson could've become if he had someone like Barry Hunter helping him instead of Don King.

I wonder what he would call it.
Can anyone come up with a name for his future website?

If Mike Tyson was your dad, you wouldn't say half the brainless shit you do. And you would be hanging out with some fine pole cats instead of mommy wannabees like wild run.

...And even if Barry Hunter was your dad, I don't know that he could have had much to work with either. Easy to sit back and posture and opine and pass judgement about real people living the life THEY live win or lose, good or bad. Until you walk in their shoes.

Go ahead...Strap 'em on ACW and take that walk they walk. Stop worrying about where they are and get off your butt and go and be a part of their world, where ever it is. And if you can't do that, stop conjecturing with all your what ifs.
