Patrick Harris did ok; however, I did just watch the bout twice and Patrick clearly lost by 7 or 8 points. It looked like he did not want to mix it up with the kid.
Patrick should have trained more often like the kids from Sugar Ray's. From what I see-those kids were in much better shape than the rest. I am not sure who the team coach will be when these kids travel out of the country for the nations, but I suggest it be a coach from Sugar Ray's Gym. They seem to have the total package.

Alright, stupid question: What's the difference between Silver Gloves and Golden Gloves?

Patrick has been told each and every lost that he really won. Therefore, he will not change his boxing ways. He really believes it when they tell him that he has never once lost a boxing match.
Tell the youngster the truth and he will the change his bad habits.
Let him know what he does wrong, do not tell him that he was so called robbed. Especially when the cards read 5-0. I lost in the Silvers in 1999 and my coach told me that I really won, I looked at the tape today and I know damn well I lost. I wish now that he would have told me the truth. Stop hurting these kids by telling they was robbed. They told Pat that he really beat the kid from Ray's-Kris Forbes. Pat lost 4-1. They told pat that he really beat that kid from Glen Burnie Gevonte Tank Davis, Pat lost 3-0. Patrick is a good boxer and will get better if you tell him the truth.

Silver Gloves you win A silver Medal.

All five judges had it for the other boxer. I personally seen the score cards 5-0.
Without question>Pat Harris lost.
I too would have gave all 3 rounds to the out-of-towner.
As of right now, the best local boxers all come from Palmer Park Maryland. Facility is the best, the coaches are doing great, they are producing champions.

The kids all keep their own club coaches. Sometimes a coach will send a kid with another gym if he cannot attend the tournament but for the national tournaments it doesn't happen often.. I belong to SRL and although positive comments are welcome, there are plenty of good coaches in the area that have proven they know what they are doing. So keep that in mind. When it comes to going out of town DC/MD gyms all come together to train and it is a big reason we do so well versus other parts of the country in my opinion. Good luck to all the area boxers going to Missouri.

Kids 16 years old can't compete in the Silver Gloves.

Whose mom is that that keeps rooting for all the dc/md kids to lose? I think her son lost and now she wants all of his team-mates to lose. I have two VCR tapes of kids from SRL and DC/MD and this lady is so negative about her own sons team-mates. She was cool before her son lost, I guess what they say is true-misery loves company.
Contact me for tape. I do not sell tapes, you can have free. Not a problem making copies.

I too heard that lady. Pay her no mind, she has always been like that. Her son boxes out of Ray's.
She meant no harm, she was just upset that other kids were going to Arkansas without her son.
