Here are the results from the ABC Sports Arena in Springfield, VA:
Junior welterweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer of Front Royal, VA won a tough, six-round split decision over Curtis "KO" Smith of Atlanta, GA. Farmer got the win despite being knocked down in the sixth round. The win was Farmer's fifth straight and raises his record to 9-1, six KO's while Smith falls to 5-3, three KO's.
In the co-feature, undefeated Montgomery, AL middleweight John "No Mercy" Mackey won a relatively easy four-round unanimous decision over Charles "Murdock" Norwood. Mackey boxed beautifully throughout the contest and made what many (including myself) thought would be a difficult bout very simple. Mackey is now 7-0, three KO's while Norwood is 3-2, one KO.
Front Royal junior middleweight Warren "The Mack" Clatterbuck remained undefeated with a third-round stoppage over Kendrick Archer of Wilson, NC. Clatterbuck is 6-0, three KO's while Archer is 0-3.
Bristow, VA light heavyweight Stennis "Hard Banging" Floyd made his pro debut not only successful but explosive as he scored a wicked first-round knockout over Ed Edwards of Wilson, NC. The knockout came courtesy of two solid right hands that dropped Edwards for the count at 59 seconds of the round.
Undefeated Front Royal cruiserweight Terry "T-Brick" Roy had perhaps his finest performance to date, scoring a third-round knockout over Fort Washington, MD's "King" George Holder (now fighting out of Alexandria, VA. Roy used a solid jab to set up the knockout and finished Holder off with a blistering left hook to the body. Holder couldn't beat the count and the bout ended at 2:29 of the third. Roy's record rises to 7-0-1, six KO's while Holder, who was fighting for the first time since August 2001, falls to 8-8, seven KO's.
In the opening contest, Fairfax, VA's Travis "O.T.T" Mallin scored a solid first-round knockout over Elm City, NC's Elijah Harris. Mallin scored with a vicious right hand that had Harris looking for a place to fall. Harris did not get back up and the bout was stopped at 47 seconds of the first.

Farmers fight, defanitley fight of the year.This boy has the heart of a lion.
It seems that it really pains you to give The Doo Man any credit.
It was a tough fight but it was supposed to be a tough fight,
Andrew did more than enough to win this fight. It seems you always have The Doo Man losing by one point.If he was one of your buddy
Joe hensley fighters you wouldn't be saying that he survived you would be saying how great he was for pulling out the win.

Actually, the two fights I thought Andrew lost were the two fights he was knocked down in (This one and the Humphreys bout in which he DID lose by a point)
If you actually paid attention to what I said, I really thought that Andrew showed a lot of heart in pulling out the win.
I just thought that the knockdown, in part, did enough for Smith to win. I have absolutely nothing against Andrew. I think this bout will help him along the way. There are those who will say that if I thought Andrew won, then I was partial toward the Beltway fighters.
For the record, there are a number of "Hensley fighters" that I thought lost bouts that won. I pride myself on being impartial. If I thought a Beltway fighter lost, I thought he lost.
I didn't argue the decision last night, I gave my opinion. I also gave an opinion on where Smith might have lost the bout. I did not complain about the decision at all. It could have gone either way.
By the way, one judge had it exactly the same way as I did. Does it pain him too?
A lot of people had Farmer losing that fight.
It was a close fight and could have gone either way.
However it wasn't a controversial decision, it was just a good fight that either guy could have won.
And two judges had it the other
way, have to go with the majority

I didnt get to see the first 4 bouts but last 2 were very exciting fights. Scott Farmer and Joe Hensly did very good job making those two fights. Like I said thru out the week, Norwood is tough guy and hits really hard but Mackey has too much boxing experience over him. You will not hit something you cant see!!And it showed last night, Mackey outboxed Norwood for 4 rounds. Onething I noticed about Mackey was he always repeated my instructions out loud to re-remind himself. Thats how focused he was. Very smart, intelligent fighter.
When I looked at Andrew Farmer, it feels like Im looking at my self 20years ago. He didnt have to stay front of him and fight in the 6th round but he did because it was in his heart. Stay in front of him and fight, again because he is worrior! Most of people would have taken safer way and win. Some people would say thats stupid way to fight but there is no other way for him, I can see him in his eye. I really hope thats not gonna hurt him like its hurting me now(physically). Andrew, my advice to you is dont take any unnecessary punches.Trust me its not worth it! I look back sometimes and it was fun doing it that way but it wasnt worth the pain I have now. Take care of yourself and fight smart. Listen to your corner person(your dad).

I was attacked and accused of showing favortism. That was an attack and that's why I was so defensive.

Andrew is a great guy, and showed that he has more than enough heart to go all the way. BUT, he did not win that fight on Saturday night.
The decision should be an embarrassment to the Va. commission. Andrew won one round, maybe two, then Curtis Smith took over. Andrew needed a knockout to win going into the 6th round. Smith's body attack was brutal throughout the fight and Andrew was dropped and nearly stopped in the 6th. The fight should have been scored 59-55 or 58-55 for Curtis Smith.
Andrew showed that he is as tough as they come. Curtis Smith showed a great body attack and all around ring generalship. A great fight flawed by a bad decision.
The three fighters from Wilson, N.C. are now 0-10 WITH EVERY LOSS BEING BY FIRST ROUND KNOCKOUT except one. Clatterbuck's opponent had been knocked out in the first in all of his previous fights, but he went a few more with Clatterbuck despite being out weighed by 15 pounds. Do people really want to see the home town boys fed this type of opponent? Three fighters (opponents), ten fights, they have been stopped in the first 9 times!

No, I wanted to see Andrew win the fight. Andrew fought a great fight, and should get credit for that, but Curtis Smith won the fight. Smith was never in any trouble, he even fought back well in the first when Andrew was throwing everything he had. By the third round, Smith was in control.
Be proud that Andrew showed so much heart - that can't be taught. He just ran into a better fighter Saturday night.

You are right, Andrew showed fighing instincts when he got up. As groggy and hurt as he was he loaded up on a right hand and tried to catch Smith moving in. Andrew spent most of the fight from the third round on, backing up and trying to load up on his right to catch Smith when he came forward. Smith was just too experienced to get caught like that. A rematch in a few months would be interesting.
So Clatterbuck had a 15 pound advantage over an 0-2 guy and Floyd had a 25 pound advantage over an 0-2 guy? Is this for real?!

Yes it is. Clatterbuck is the first person who couldn't stop the guy he was fighting in the first.
Don't get on Warren Clatterbuck for not stopping his opponent in the 1st. Archer didnt want to engage and spent the fight running away.
Its hard to stop a guy that won't fight. The way he was running away its hard to HIT a guy like that. In the end he got it done though, and thats whats important.
Shoot, he couldn't even SHAME the guy into fighting. I felt bad for him.
smith wasn't hurt ant any time? How about when his corner turned over the bucket of ice to get there fighter more time, like 30 sec. that was after dooman hurt him with a right hand at the end of the 4th or 5th round. And "NOVA FAN" if you are so damn experienced why don't you become an official or something, you probably have never had a boxing glove on in your life and do not know what you are looking at.
Doesn't matter if they become an official, nothing will please you unless everyone agrees with you. Andrew won, you should be celebrating and happy and looking forward to the next fight. Focus on the next fight.

Prelim fights entertaining especially T-Bricks.
A suprise to most people but not to him.
The feature bouts were a combination of class ,experienmce and no guts no glory.
With John Mackey and Charles Norwood you have two guys that
don't deserve to lose no matter what.Mackie Got the well deserved decision but I believe the fight was closer than the score showed.
Now the one that everyone is talking about and all the comments are being made about, both negative
and posative.
Andrew Farmer VS Curtis Smith.
Everybody said ,your matching your son to soft,so there was Jason Jordan and now MR Curtis Smith so
I don't want to hear he's fighting
bums anymore.He will continue to fight this level of competition and better from now on.I knew Curtis was a gamble but Thought Andrew was just as good and at least as tough as him (especially mentally).It's a fight I think everybody will talk about for some time.
(The decision) my phone has rang off the hook with people of diffrent oppinions about who won the fight.Was the Knockdown enough to give it to Smith? I don't know
but I feel Andrew was ahead at the end of round five and that he had landed some serious combinations
throughout the fight and his own body attack . Smith was on the ropes as much as The Doo was and took quite a bit of punishment
to the body himself.
To sum the fight up,it doesn't really matter what I say about who
I think won the bout because if you were there you have already
formed your own opinion but it was one hell of an effort on both
fighters part and I'm sure both of them can grow from it.
As for the rest of the comments and garbage on this subject I have nothing to do with it, as much as you want it to be me.

Yes, everyone, please leave Clatterbuck alone. He couldn't handle real competition. I have been to several of his fights and he has not impressed me. If these fighters don't want to be bashed they should find some opponents with better records. Step it up.
I have been to a few of his fights, all I can say is Warren is there and fights, I don't get the negativity against him. If he's so bad, should be an easy/brezzy. bring it. He needs better comps.
Andrew Farmer vs Curtis Smith was that hard to score type of fight with one guy throwing more punches and the other throwing harder shots.
Some favor volume... others favor power. So, there's gonna be people upset about the decision.
But only the blind can pretend that fight wasn't close.

And if Farmer keeps electing to slug it out when he should be boxing... he's not gonna have much of a career.
He shoulda watched John Mackey's fight. Norwood had the ability and power to make it a very rough night for Mackey, but Mackey elected to box and pick his spots where he was going to unload. A brilliant performance!
And many kudos to Norwood for continuing to try throughout. The man has heart and talent.

But Farmer had the ability to hurt Smith WITHOUT getting hurt back.
He got faster hands, faster feet, and better reflexes.
There are things called angles and feints that can neutralize a flat-footed puncher like Smith.
Smith is a hell of a fighter, but only if you stand right in front of him.
When Farmer was popping him from the outside in the first two rounds, it was quite brilliant. But then, as usual, he decided to stay in there too long and let the other guy take free swings at him.
If you're fighting Smith, the last place you want to be is right in front of him... cos he lets them rip to the body.
You want to attack him from the side so he doesn't get punches off on you. Then you can still hurt him without the big risk of getting hit back solidly.

Norwood's a way better talent than Cygan and it wasn't a "tough" fight. Maybe difficult... but not tough.
Tough fights back-to-back are like if Andrew Farmer got in another brawl and took more shots than the average person can survive alive.
But Mackey barely got hit. It may have been physically tough on the body, but the body recovers from that just like a heavy weight training workout.
It's the brain that doesn't recover quickly. But if you're not getting hit, then the point is moot. Mackey could fight Cygan this coming weekend. In fact, his sparring is gonna be tougher than the Cygan fight...
How about Mackey vs Clatterbuck? I wanna see it.
The judges for the card were Jerry Payne, Barry Lindeman and Wayne Smith.
For the Farmer-Smith card, Payne scored the bout, 58-55 for Farmer, Smith scored the bout 57-56 for Farmer.
Lindeman had the contest 57-56 for Smith.
Mackey Vs Clatterbuck...dont be silly-I said a step up not a visit to another planet.

fights tougher.It is my plan to bring him down to 147 and challenge somebody in that range

I have only seen him fight twice, but was impressed in that I didn't see him back down either time. Granted, that probably could be because of gross mismatches, but I think a tougher fight would be great to really see what he is made of.

You guys can forget anybody I have ever fighting Orazio Robinson for a number of reasons.The main one being he is the most underated fighter in this area.I know what he is capable of doing if he is handled right and put in the right fights and brought along The right way .He also was very insturmental in my son Andrew learning how to box and I feel like he is family to me.Andrew and I owe both Dion and Willie Ttaylor a debt of Gratitude.If this boy has his head right when he climbs between the ropes somebody is in trouble.
