Former DC lightweight boxer Ernest "Sonny Boy" Williams passed away on Thursday, November 1 at the age of 71. No cause of death was given.
Williams was a lightweight boxer from 1954-1959 with his bouts taking place either here in DC or in the state of New York. His record was 21-8-1 with 11 KO's.
The viewing for Mr. Williams will be on Friday, November 9, 6 to 9 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home, 4001 Benning Rd., NE Washington, DC. The Homegoing service will be on Saturday, November 10 with the viewing at 9 a.m. and the service at 10 a.m.., St. Paul Christian Community Church, 414 Tennessee Ave NE.
