Severn, MD junior middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow scored a devastating third-round knockout over "The Mighty Burner" James Shedrick in front of a packed house at the Pikesville National Guard Armory in Pikesville, MD.
Nicklow turned what was a close two-round bout into a quick finish by landing a brutal overhand right that dropped Shedrick quickly to the canvas. Shedrick barely beat referee Kenny Chevalier's 10-count but was on shaky legs and Chevalier stopped the bout at 1:58 of the third. The win marked the second time Nicklow defeated Shedrick in his career, the first time was on September 14 at Martin's West in Woodlawn, MD.
Nicklow is now 9-0, three KO's while Shedrick falls to 4-7, two KO's.
The co-feature saw Pikesville welterweight Tim Coleman remain undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Jayson Champion of Suitland. Coleman was accidently thumbed in the eye in the second round but recovered in the third and dropped Champion with a counter right hand. Champion started to come on late in the bout but it was too late.
Coleman raises his record to 7-0, two KO's while Champion's record falls to 3-3, two KO's.
Other results on the card: Bowie, MD heavyweight Horace "The Reason" Grant scored a fifth-round TKO over Catonsville, MD's "Irish" Glenn Williams. Grant is now 3-1, three KO's while Williams falls to 4-4-1, four KO's.
"The Golden Greek" Elias Bouloubassis of Reisterstown, MD and Vincent Robbins of York, SC fought to a technical draw. The bout was stopped in the second round because an accidental headbutt caused Robbins to suffer blurred vision. Because half the bout was not completed, the technical draw was ruled. Boulbassis is now 0-0-2 while Robbins is 1-3-2, one KO.
Severna Park middleweight Shelly Sivert lost a four-round unanimous decision to Cimberly Harris of Tampa, FL. Sivert is now 1-1 while the more experienced Harris is 4-9.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DAVIS BOUT?
The Davis bout fell out when Jameel Wilson decided at the last minute to back out. They tried to have Davis in another exhibition but that didn't work either.
The Richard Stewart-Darin Johnson bout fell out as well. No reason was given why.

Whatever happened to Mike Ricasa and Mike Paschall? At least when you went to a Snake show you saw some guys who could fight. Da Beast can fight a little, but the Greek and Sievert can't fight at all. When are Pascall and Ricasa fighting next?
The Beast threw a beautiful punch that knocked out a 42 year old guy who was 4-7. WOW. When does such a goddawful matchup become a main event? I agree with the last guy. Where is mike Pascall and when is he fighting next?
That Coleman kid was lucky that fight was six rounds. He has to get in shape, lose some weight and stop being a legend in his own mind. He was LUCKY to get out of Pikesville with a W.
The Greek should retire now while he still is undefeated. He is terrible. Two fights, two draws, no hope. Say good night Gracie.
Give them a damn break its early in their careers. Sievert will bounce back, she fought a girl who was just more expierienced. It was her 2nd pro fight, and you cant strike this against the Greek. He was killing the guy and made him quit. Every-1 knew that was BS.
Tim Coleman did seem to tire a little late but he did more than enough early to win. I thought Champion was a very good fighter also and a southpaw at that. Champion seemed hesitant to shoot his powershots until the last two rounds. A good fight and a quality win for Coleman in my oppinion.
Very disappointed I didn't get a chance to see Davis fight again.
Paschall may be on the March 10 card in Pikesville. I'm not sure where Ricasa stands right now. He was leading Nicklow's corner last Saturday.
Paschall has not looked that good in his last two outings. I'm not completely sure he is taking this sport seriously enough.
We've mentioned this in previous post-fight wrap-up shows. Mike spends a lot of time talking to friends in the crowd instead of in the locker room getting ready. I'm not sure those who take this seriously do that.
Paschall definitely has talent but he has to want this a little more than what I have seen lately.

The Nicklow and Coleman wins were significant in my mind.
Nicklow's win showed serious growth in his career. Nicklow didn't do this against Shedrick the first time around back in September. Shedrick walked out of the ring at Martin's thinking he did enough to win the fight had it not been stopped because of the cut on his eye. This time around, Nicklow fought a better fight and did what he had to do.
Remember, Nicklow turns 20 next month. He faced a guy in Shedrick who grew up at least around boxing (his father was a lightweight prospect from Philadelphia). He also fought a tough Jayson Champion in his last outing, a bout I thought Champion won, but Nicklow looked very good in the bout himself. Nicklow has grown considerably in the last 12 months.
Coleman also fought well against Champion who is apparently tough for ANYONE he faces. Remember, Coleman was thumbed in the eye in the second round; the eye was closing considerably throughout the fight. Yet he still dropped Champion in the third with a solid counter right hand. That shows a lot of guts and ability in my opinion.
Yes, I thought Champion did win the last two rounds as Coleman tired and his left eye was just about shut. But the knockdown was the key factor and it was a good victory for Coleman.
Give these guys some time. They are some solid prospects.
why was ricasa in nicklos corner, he had the same cut guy and second, who trains him? i thought he looked more well rounded a few fights back. better defence too. danny kizner use to have him and jessie looked better then. now he has no head movement, too wide a stance, and telegraphs alot of his moves.
Josh Hall is Nicklow's trainer, but because he serves as the matchmaker, he can't work his corner. I think Danny is still with Jessie but Mike Ricasa is from the same camp and maybe they gave him an opportunity to work a corner.
