Forestville, MD's Eric "Mighty Mouse" Aiken is the new IBF Featherweight Champion! This from Fightnews.com:

Aiken (16-4, 12 KOs) shockingly won the IBF featherweight championship via eighth round disqualification over Valdemir Pereira (23-1, 15 KOs) Saturday night at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Mass. Aiken, who took the fight on ten days notice, dropped the champion in round four with a left hook to the head and again in the fifth with a left hook to the body. Pereira was deducted points in rounds six and seven for low blows and after another shot below the belt in the eighth, referee Charlie Dwyer disqualified the Brazilian, crowning Aiken as the new IBF featherweight champion. Time was 1:37.

I just got off of the phone with Mouse to congradulate him on his victory. I must say it again! This was not an upset! This is what you get when hard work and patience comes together. Through all the tough times of getting fights and fights falling through, he has reach part of his goal. Stay focused Mouse and go and get the other belts. I'm so proud of you man.

This is great-congrats Mouse!

BUT-and I hate to say this-too bad it had to be by DQ.

If you hate to say it-why did you>? You sound jealous to me. Look, Mouse won fair and square. Now get over it.

I agree You didn't even have to mention that. He won the belt fair and square . Mouse Didn't make dude fight dirty , dude choose to fight dirty to try in save his title.
So You are either Jealous or You are hating . You should be happy that this young man is doing something good with his life .

I apologize-you're right, the only reason the guy cheated was because he knew he'd lose in a fair fight. So, again, my apologies, and congrats to Mouse.
