Kingsville, MD heavyweight Brian "Bam Bam" Haneschlager had a rough time in his professional debut lasting just 49 seconds in his bout with equally debuting Jerome Morris of Darby, PA at the PAL Center in Hockessin, DE.
Despite having a considerable weight advantage, Haneschlager could not compete with Morris's power during the contest. According to boxing reporter JR Jowett, Morris landed an overhand right that wobbled Haneschlager and forced him to hang on to the ropes. Referee Bill Clancy immediately stopped the contest.

Chaney Scores First-Round Knockout In Philadelphia!
Undefeated Baltimore, MD heavyweight Cassius Chaney scored a first-round knockout over Christian "Bravo" Mariscal of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico Saturday at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
Chaney scored the knockout at 2:16 of the first round to raise his record to 15-0, nine KO's. Mariscal falls to 12-3, five KO's.

Harrison Scores First-Round TKO In Returning Bout!
Washington, DC's Dusty Hernandez Harrison's return to boxing did not take very long. On Saturday, Harrison scored a first-round TKO over Bruce "The Rage" Rumbolz of Sterling, IL at the Grand Theater in Albany, IN.
Harrison was never threatened in the contest and he ended the bout with a left hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head that dropped Rumbolz. The Illinois veteran tried to get up but then sank to one knee and the bout was stopped. The time of the knockout was 1:46.

Over the past few years, April has been one of the real busy months for Boxing Along The Beltway. April 2019 will definitely live up to that tradition as we will be extremely busy. Madison Scores Second-Round TKO In Philadelphia!

Owings Mills, MD heavyweight Colby Madison scored a crushing second-round TKO over Emilio Salas of Yonkers, NY by way of Coamo, Puerto Rico Friday at the Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia, PA.
Madison used an almost 30-pound weight advantage well as his power dominated the lighter Salas. Early in the second round, Madison missed a left jab but connected with a quick, devastating right hand that dropped Salas to the canvas. Salas beat referee Gary Rosato's count but was in no condition to continue. The bout was stopped at 23 seconds.
Madison remains undefeated with a record of 8-0-2, five KO's. Salas, who competed for the first time since May of 2016, falls to 5-3-1, three KO's.

Williams Released After Local Shooting Incident!
Undefeated District Heights, MD welterweight and 2018 Beltway Boxing Rookie Of The Year "The Next Big Thing" Keeshawn Williams turned himself into police Wednesday after a double shooting earlier in the week that left one man dead.
Williams has not been charged in the incident and police are investigating whether Williams fired in self defense. Williams was released pending the results of the investigation.
Williams (5-0-1, one KO) just fought this past Sunday, March 24th at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD where he won a six-round unanimous decision over Evincii Dixon. According to reports, the shooting, which took place at Williams's home in the 5200 block of Daventry Terrace, was the result of a domestic dispute at another location about how Williams was going to divide up his winnings from the bout.
Forty-year-old Damon Proctor was killed in the incident on Monday. A woman was shot in the leg and was treated at the hospital and released. Originally, police thought the gunman was still in the house and local businesses and schools were placed on lockdown.

Walton is truly a survivor. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Walton and his family were decimated by Hurricane Katrina. Walton rescued his mother and baby sister during the hurricane swimming them to safety at age 13. The family moved to Beaumont, TX where they were displaced once again when Hurricane Rita hit the area. Walton played football in high school but was ineligible to compete in his new school in Texas. He turned to the streets where he was eventually convicted of aggravated assault while trying to avenge the murder of his father. Walton was facing 60 years in prison but took a plea deal that allowed him to serve three years. Walton learned how to box during that time.
Both men weighed in for this bout on Wednesday. Rodriguez came in at 148 pounds while Walton tipped the scales at 149 pounds.
Rodriguez (8-13-1, six KO's) will be looking to break a six-bout losing streak that includes a six-round unanimous decision loss to Michael Anderson on December 15th in Vienna, VA. Late Walkout Bouts From MGM National Harbor Casino!
Three bouts took place following the main event at MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD on Sunday.
Hyattsville, MD super lightweight Patrick "Y.G. Pat" Harris won a six-round unanimous decision over Bergman “The Snake” Aguilar of San Jose, Costa Rica. Harris was extremely sharp during the contest and dominated the bout, winning by shutout (60-54) on all three judges’s scorecards. Harris remains undefeated at 15-0, eight KO’s while Aguilar falls to 14-5-1, four KO’s.
Ramon Cardenas, a featherweight from San Antonio, TX, won an eight-round split decision over Ryan Lee “Stone” Allen of Jackson, MI. Both men were in a very tough, close battle throughout the contest before Cardenas eeked out the win by scores of 58-56 on two cards. Allen won one card by the same score. Cardenas is now 17-1, nine KO’s while Allen falls to 8-3-1, four KO’s.
Also “The Next Big Thing” Keeshawn Williams of DC won a six-round unanimous decision over Evincii “Prize Fighter” Dixon of Lancaster, PA. Williams was in complete control and won by shutout (60-54) across the board. Williams is now 5-0-1, one KO while Dixon falls to 7-22-2, two KO’s.

L. Peterson Suffers Crushing Knockout Against Lipinets In Main Event!

Washington, DC welterweight and three-time former world champion Lamont Peterson was knocked out in the 10th round by Sergey "Samurai" Lipinets of Beverly Hills, CA in the main event of the card at the MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD.
After the bout, Peterson announced his retirement.
The bout was fought at close range throughout with Peterson being very successful with his body shots early. In the fifth round, the bell rang prematurely but neither boxer seemed to be affected.
In the second half of the bout, Lipinets took control. Lipinets started to land the more telling blows and in the 10th round, he landed a solid right hand that made Peterson stumble. Lipinets would throw a series of blows that dropped Peterson to the canvas. At the same time, Peterson's trainer and father figure, Barry Hunter, threw in the towel, forcing referee Harvey Dock to stop the bout at 2:58 of the 10th.
Peterson's career ends at 34-5-1, 17 KO's. Lipinets, himself a former world champion, is now 15-1, 11 KO's.
Clark Wins Close Co-Feature!
In a close co-feature contest, "The Quiet Assassin" Jamontay Clark of Cincinnati, Oh won a 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Vernon "Subzero" Brown of Chicago, IL.
Brown, the shorter of the two boxers, landed the biggest blow of the night with a right hand that made Clark stumble against the ropes in the third round. Referee Kenny Chevalier ruled a knockdown saying the ropes held Clark up. However, Clark was able to withstand any more offense from Brown and come back with punches of his own that landed solidly against Brown.
Clark won by scores of 96-93 (twice) and 95-94 to raise his record to 14-1, seven KO's. Brown loses for the first time and he is 10-1-1, seven KO's.
A. Peterson Battles Mendez To 10-Round Draw!
Washington DC super lightweight Anthony Peterson has battled Argenis "La Tormenta" Mendez to a 10-round draw.
Peterson spent most of the bout on the outside moving side-to-side. Each man took turns initiating the action but neither gained a strong advantage in the exchanges.
Judge John Gradowski saw the bout for Mendez, 96-94 while judge Larry Hazzard, Jr. scored the bout for Peterson by the same score. Judge Paul Wallace saw the draw at 95-95.
Peterson is now 37-1-1, 24 KO's. Mendez is 25-5-2, 12 KO's.
Quarles Drops Split Decision!
Alexandria, VA super welterweight Brandon "Bulldog" Quarles lost by eight-round split decision to Aaron Coley of Hayward, CA.
Coley was the more aggressive boxer in the contest as he was the first to land shots most of the way. Quarles fought gamely and won John Gradowski's scorecard at 77-75. Judges David Braslow and Larry Hazzard, Jr. both saw the bout for Coley, 78-74 and 79-73. Quarles's record drops to 21-5-1, 10 KO's. Coley is now 16-1-2, seven KO's.
Simpson Dominant In Unanimous Decision Victory!
Baltimore, MD super middleweight Lorenzo "Truck" Simpson won a relatively easy four-round unanimous decision over the debuting Jaime Meza of Compton, CA.
Simpson dropped Meza with a straight left hand early in the first round and proceeded to dominate him the rest of the way. Two judges scored the bout 40-35 while one had it 40-36. Simpson is now 3-0, two KO's.
Breedy Wins By Technical Unanimous Decision!
In the first televised contest (FS1) from MGM National Harbor Casino, Hyattsville, MD super featherweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy won by six-round technical unanimous decision over Francisco Fuentes of Hemet, CA.
The bout was a very competitive one with Breedy gaining a slight advantage with his punches. Both men were coming forward and a clash of heads seemed inevitable. The clash came 38 seconds into the sixth round and opened a gash on the eye and over the nose of Fuentes. After looking at the cut, ringside doctors said Fuentes could not continue.
Judges Gradowski and Wallace scored the bout 58-56 while Hazzard, Jr. saw the bout 59-55 for Breedy, who remains undefeated at 12-0, three KO's. Fuentes is now 15-8-1, four KO's.
Martin Wins Split Decision At MGM!
Washington, DC welterweight Kareem "Reemo" Martin won a six-round split decision over Joaquin "Chico" Chavez of Commerce, CA.
Martin was the aggressor throughout the contest but Chavez did not back down. Both men landed nice punches but Martin seemed to have an edge. Judges Dave Braslow and John Gradowski both scored the bout for Martin, 60-54 and 59-55, respectively while Larry Hazzard, Jr. saw the fight for Chavez, 59-55. Martin is now 12-2-1, three KO's while Chavez falls to 9-19-3, two KO's.
Good Afternoon From MGM National Harbor Casino!
Hi everyone from MGM National Harbor Casino in Oxon Hill, MD for the Premier Boxing Champions/Dibella Entertainment/TGB Promotions card.
Two bouts have already taken place on the card. Clarksburg, MD middleweight Mark "Sayless" Duncan lost by six-round split decision to Arturo Izquierdo of Las Vegas, NV by way of Costa Rica.
Izquierdo had a strong offense in the first two rounds and gained a big advantage when he dropped Duncan with a left hand early in the second round. Duncan, competing in his first six-rounder, was able to come back and make the bout close, getting the win on judge Larry Hazzard, Jr.'s card at 57-56. Judges John Gradowski and Paul Wallace saw the bout at 57-56 for Izquierdo. Duncan loses for the first time as a pro and is now 3-1, three KO's. Izquierdo's record rises to 6-2, two KO's.
In the opening contest, 2018 National Golden Gloves champion Adrian "Playtime " Benton of Cincinnati, Ohio won a four-round unanimous decision over veteran Archie Weah of Monrovia, Liberia. Benton was dominant and won by 40-36 across the board. Weah is now 2-13.
