A huge opportunity has come for Upper Marlboro, MD middleweight Alantez "SlyAza" Fox. On Saturday, December 21st. Fox will face Liam "The Machine" Williams of Clydach Vale, Wales in a WBO world title elimination contest at the Copper Box Arena in London, England. The winner will be the mandatory challenger for WBO Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade.
Fox (26-1-1, 12 KO's) is ranked number one in the WBO at middleweight and is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision win over Bruno Leonardo Romay on October 26th in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Should Fox win the eliminator, he will get his second opportunity at Andrade. Fox's only loss came to Andrade by 12-round unanimous decision in October of 2017 in Verona, NY. Despite suffering a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder in the non-title bout, Fox was able to drop Andrade during the contest.
Williams (21-2-1, 16 KO's) is ranked number seven in the WBO middleweight rankings. In his last outing, Williams won the vacant WBC Silver Middleweight title with a second-round knockout of Karim Achour on July 13 in Greenwich, England. Williams is a former super welterweight world title contender.
