Boxing Comes Back To Glen Burnie, MD!

Beltway Pro Boxing makes its return to Glen Burnie, MD on Saturday, November 16th.  However, this Shabazz Brotherz card will not take place at Michael's Eighth Avenue.  This card will originate from La Fontaine Bleue, located at 7514 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.

Headlining the card will be undefeated Baltimore, MD rookie super middleweight Lorenzo "Truck" Simpson who will compete in a six-round contest against Delvecchio Savage of Tuscaloosa, AL.  Simpson (5-0, four KO's) is coming off a second-round TKO over Dewayne Williams on June 22nd in Fort Washington, MD.  Savage (3-4-1, three KO's) has lost his last two bouts, including a six-round unanimous decision loss to Akil Malcolm Knight on August 29th in New Orleans, LA.  The last victory for Savage came in the Beltway when he knocked out Francisco Bustos in the third round on June 29th in Laurel, MD.

Baltimore cruiserweight "The Silent Assassin" Muhsin Cason will be in a six-round co-feature bout against Montez Brown of Virginia Beach, VA.  Cason (5-0, three KO's) last fought on that June 22nd card in Fort Washington, MD and scored a first-round stoppage over Nathaniel Copeland when Copeland injured his left arm.  Brown (8-1, six KO's) looks to rebound from his first pro loss, a first-round knockout at the hands of Joe Jones on April 20th in Fort Washington.

Not only will Cason, the younger brother of former Undisputed World Heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, Sr., be on the card, but so will Rahman's son, heavyweight Hasim "Goldblooded" Rahman, Jr.  Rahman, Jr. will be in a four-round contest against veteran Lance Gauch of Hannibal, MO.  Rahman, Jr. (8-0, four KO's) is coming off a four-round unanimous decision over Curtis Head on the June 22nd Fort Washington card.  Gauch (8-11-3, four KO's) is unbeaten in his last four contests with three wins and a draw.  However, Gauch has not fought since April of 2017 when he battled to a four-round majority draw against Travis Fulton in Kansas City, MO.

In female action, Baltimore super lightweight "Lady Tyson" Destiny Day-Owens will be in a four-round contest against Dasha "Champ Queen" Ragland of Harrisburg, PA.  Day-Owens (1-0) made a successful pro debut, winning a four-round split decision over Michaele Nogue on January 26th in Waldorf, MD.  Ragland (0-1) lost her pro debut against Nogue by unanimous decision on June 1st in Waldorf.

Odenton, MD middleweight Maurice Winslow III will be in a four-round matchup against Dewayne Williams of Philadelphia, PA.  Winslow (2-1, two KO's) looks to bounce back from his first pro loss, a four-round split decision to Clay Collard on July 6th in Toledo, OH.  Williams (1-1, one KO) has not competed since his second-round KO loss to Simpson on June 22nd.

This card will mark the pro debuts of two of the Avelar Brothers of Germantown, MD.  Featherweight Tommy Avelar is still looking for an opponent while welterweight Brian Avelar will face equally debuting LeQuan Jones of Germantown, MD.  The two Avelars, along with their brother Wilfredo Avelar, have won numerous Washington and Regional Golden Gloves championships.

Also on the card will be welterweight Shinard Bunch of Trenton, NJ who will take on Alberto Delgado of Roanoke, VA in a four-round encounter.  Bunch (3-1, three KO's) fought to a third-round no contest against Vincent Floyd on October 25th in Philadelphia, PA.  Floyd was knocked down twice in the first two rounds of the scheduled six-round bout but suffered a cut after an accidental headbutt in the third round that stopped the contest.  Delgado (1-8-4, one KO) lost a six-round unanimous decision to Greg Jackson on September 21st in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
