Balogun, Pllana Score First-Round KO's In DC!

Two Beltway Boxers scored explosive knockouts at the Capitol Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC on Thursday, October 24th.  This was the annual Alarm.com boxing card that is open only to employees of the company.  The press is not allowed to attend.

In the main event, Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight Mike "Silverback" Balogun scored a first-round knockout over Mike "Concrete" Bissett of St. Petersburg, FL.  The time of the knockout was 1:50 seconds.  Balogun remains undefeated at 15-0, 11 KO's.  Bissett falls to 15-13-1, nine KO's.

The co-feature saw the "Sexy Albanian" Genc Pllana of Hagerstown, MD register a first-round knockout over Alex Lara of Manhattan, NY in a super middleweight contest.  The bout was stopped at 2:07. Pllana rises to 7-1, four KO's while Lara drops to 2-2, one KO.

DC middleweight Davonn Boone won a four-round unanimous decision over Allan Johnson of Ashburn, VA.  No word on the official scores but reports say the decision was "controversial."  Both men even their records at 1-1.  Johnson has one knockout on his record.

In the opening bout, female flyweight Natalie "Barracuda" Gonzalez of New Rochelle, NY won a six-round unanimous decision over Martina Horgasz of Budapest, Hungary.  Again, no word on official scores.  Gonzalez is now 6-0, one KO while Horgasz is now 5-5, four KO's.
