Beltway Amateurs Give Solid Performances In North Carolina!

Amateur boxers from the Sugar Ray Leonard Gym in Palmer Park, MD performed very well at the Christy Martin Title National Invitational Tournament on Saturday, July 20th in Lillington, NC.

Nathaniel Brown defeated Ahmed Williams of Norfolk, VA by unanimous decision to win the Pee Wee 65 Pounds championship.

Travon Marshall won the Youth Male 152 Pound title by scoring a second-round TKO over Laron Rockymore of Pittsburgh, PA.

Also, Dwayne Holmes, Jr. captured the Elite Male 123 Pound championship by second-round knockout over Vit Y of Columbia, SC.  Holmes also was named the Outstanding Male Boxer of the Tournament.

One other result:  Sarah Ardell lost a controversial decision at 115 Pounds to Savannah Ford of Oklahoma.  Ford weighed in at 122 pounds.  This was Ardell's first bout at the Female Novice level.
