Capitol Heights, MD's "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. made his fourth successful title defense of the WBC Featherweight championship by scoring a fifth-round TKO over former world champion Kiko Martinez Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Russell was in complete control of the contest. Martinez would suffer a cut over the left eye due to a punch and the bout would be stopped at 2:52 of the fifth round.
Russell is now 30-1, 18 KO's while Martinez is 39-9-2, 28 KO's.
