Baltimore, MD super featherweight Jahmal Dyer will meet the bright lights of national television for the first time in his young pro career on Friday evening, April 5th when he takes on undefeated Andres Cortes of Las Vegas, NV at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas.
The eight-round bout will open a ShoBox telecast on Showtime. Dyer (9-1, five KO’s) competes in an eight-rounder for the first time in his pro career after coming off a six-round unanimous decision win over previously undefeated Carlos Dixon on March 2nd in Columbus, OH. This will be Dyer’s third bout in three months. Cortes (10-0, six KO’s) last fought on January 17th and stopped Eder Amaro Fajardo in the third round at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
The telecast will get underway at 10 PM ET.
