Beltway Boxers Hit Scales In Brooklyn!

A late addition to the March schedule.  Three Beltway Boxers will be in action on a card Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Capitol Heights, MD bantamweight Antonio "Another" Russell will be in an eight-round contest against Jose Maria Cardenas of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.  Russell (12-0, 10 KO's) last fought on August 24th and scored a first-round TKO over Nick Otieno in Minneapolis, MN.  Cardenas (16-3, 13 KO's) looks to bounce back from a 10-round unanimous decision loss to Melvin Lopez on August 31st in West Palm Beach, FL.

Landover, MD welterweight Tyrek "I.G.B." Irby competes in a six-round bout against Dennis Okoth of Siaya, Kenya.  Irby (6-0, two KO's) makes his second straight trip to Barclays Center.  Last time out, Irby won a four-round unanimous decision over Jonathan Figueroa on January 26th.  Okoth (2-1-1, one KO) will try to rebound from suffering his first pro loss, a four-round unanimous decision to James Martin on November 9 in Philadelphia, PA.  Okoth will be facing a Beltway Boxer for the second time.  Okoth battled Keeshawn Williams to a four-round split decision draw at Barclays Center in January of 2018.

Baltimore, MD middleweight Aaron Anderson will be in a four-round encounter against "The Lion King" Chukka Willis of Emporia, KS by way of Atlanta, GA.  Anderson (3-0, three KO's) has not fought since scoring a first-round TKO over Jason Kelly in February of 2017 in Stone Mountain, GA.  Willis (4-9, two KO's) will try to break a two-bout losing streak that includes a six-round unanimous decision loss to Yulian Tembotov on February 16th in Hollywood, CA.

Here are the weights for the three bouts:

Antonio Russell 116.4 vs. Jose Maria Cardenas 117.4

Tyrek Irby 143.8 vs. Dennis Okoth 143.2

Aaron Anderson 154.6 vs. Chukka Willis 155.4
