Jack Johnson Exhibit Comes To Washington This Weekend!
February being Black History Month -- There is a very important exhibit that comes to the Washington area this weekend that pays tribute to the first African-American Heavyweight champion, Jack Johnson.
"The Galveston Giant" was champion from 1908-1915 and his bout against Jim Jeffries on July 4, 1910 was dubbed "The Fight Of The Century."
The Jack Johnson Exhibit Tour will be in three locations over the weekend. On Friday, the exhibit will be at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, located at 908 Whyte Street in Alexandria, VA and will open at 5 PM.
The exhibit will move into DC and stop at the Ridge Road Community Center at 830 Ridge Road in Southeast on Saturday, February 16 at noon. Then, the exhibit moves to the SE Dream Center at 2826 Q Street, SE at 4 PM.
