Bad stoppage. Stopped for no reason. Bad decisions all night. First fight was a 4 rounder and one fighter scored a knockdown and won at least 2 rounds and the other hometown fighter was still given the decision. Juan De La Cruz Rodriguez was not hurt at all. He was not staggered or dropped or knees didn't even buckle.
Where are all the DC pro cards? There used to be one every few weeks, but there's been nothing in 2018. What's going on? Why the drought?
The reason for the drought is that we don't have a lot of boxers that local promoters can afford to put on cards. Everyone is traveling and making more money as they do so. There is not enough to go around. Everybody from a fringe contender to our champions is fighting out of the area. There aren't enough quality prospects at the moment. Our next scheduled card in the area is not until late June and two of the boxers scheduled to be on that card (Travis Reeves and Malik Hawkins) are competing in the next few weeks.
So technically, the cards are in a drought because there is a drought at the prospect level and unless a major promoter steps in and puts cards on, it might be that way for a while.
