Lockett Faces Ajamu March 10th In Atlantic City!

Two well-travelled boxers will square off in a six-round cruiserweight contest on Saturday, March 10th at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.

Beltway veteran Willis "The Prophet" Lockett of Takoma Park, MD will take on Camden, NJ's Prince Badi Ajamu.  These two boxers have competed a combined 75 times and have a combined age of 87 years.

The 41-year-old Lockett (15-22-6, five KO's) has lost three of his last four including a fifth-round TKO defeat to Frederic Julan on November 18th at the Claridge.  Over his career ,which began in 2001, Lockett has fought fellow locals Keith Holmes, Willie Williams, Henry Mayes and Maxell Taylor as well as former prospects Dante Craig, Jerson Ravelo, Chuck Mussachio as well as current prospect Jerry Forrest.

The 46-year-old Ajamu (28-3-1, 15 KO's) also started his pro career in 2001 and would have even more bouts on his record if he did not take an eight-year hiatus from boxing from 2009-2017.  Ajamu is a former NABO and Continental Americas Light heavyweight champion whose biggest bout came in a loss to recently retired legend Roy Jones, Jr.   Ajamu lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Jones in July of 2006 in Boise, ID.  In his last outing, Ajamu won an eight-round unanimous decision over Edgar Perez on August 5th at the Claridge.
