DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley has done it again. The 42-year-old wonder won a 12-round majority decision over Dexter Gonzales of Trinidad and Tobago to win the vacant WBC Fecarbox Lightweight championship Saturday in Lilliendaal, Guyana.
Corley recovered from a third-round knockdown to win the title by scores of 115-115, 115-110 and 113-112. Corley's record is now 47-27-1, 28 KO's. Gonzales is now 8-2-2, five KO's. Corley has fought in 18 title bouts in his 20-year career and has won the WBO Super Lightweight world title, the NABF and USBA Super Lightweight titles and now, the WBC Fecarbox Lightweight championship.
