Two Beltway Boxers fought on a card at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT Thursday night.
Baltimore, MD light heavyweight Willie "For Real" Williams lost by second-round TKO to undefeated Charles Foster of New Haven, CT. The bout was stopped at 2:01. Williams has dropped four in a row and is now 14-12-2, four KO's. Foster is 11-0, six KO's.
"The Bolivian Queen" Jennifer Salinas of Manassas, VA scored a fourth-round TKO over late sub Angel "Non-Stop" Gladney of Columbia, SC. According to Jason Marchetti of Fightnews.com, Salinas, now fighting out of Providence, RI, was in control the entire bout, aggressively throwing right and left hooks to the head and body. Salinas fought on the inside and from a distance when her opponent allowed, winning all the rounds until the TKO. It was unclear whether it was the referee or the doctor standing on the mat that called off the fight, but Salinas earned the knockout with her onslaught of landed combinations. The bout was halted at 1:51. This is the third win Salinas has earned over Gladney. Salinas won by fifth and 10th round decisions in the two previous bouts.
Salinas, competing on her birthday, has won eight straight contests and is now 19-3, five KO's. Gladney drops to 9-12-1, six KO's.
