Bowie, MD super middleweight "The King's Son" Jerry Odom returns to action in an important, nationally-televised eight-round contest against Julius "The Chef" Jackson of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on Friday, July 22 at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT. The bout will be a co-feature bout on ShoBox on Showtime as the program celebrates its 15th anniversary.
Odom (13-2-1, 12 KO's) is coming off an eight-round majority draw with Ronald Ellis on February 19 in Atlantic City, NJ. Ironically, Odom is replacing Ellis in this bout. Ellis suffered a hand injury in training and could not compete. This will be Odom's fifth straight appearance on ShoBox -- he is 2-1-1 in his previous ShoBox opportunities. Odom also had a tough seventh-round knockout victory on ESPN2 in July of 2014.
Jackson (19-1, 15 KO's) will try to bounce back from suffering his first loss where he was stopped in the second round by Jose Uzcategui on October 6 in San Antonio, TX. . Jackson is the son of former world champion Julian "The Hawk" Jackson and the older brother of John "Dah Rock" Jackson, who just lost a world title shot to Jermell Charlo in May.
