Lorenzo Simpson of Baltimore (above) won the gold medal in the Junior 165 Pound division with a decision over Juan Vasquez of Omaha, NE.  Simpson was also named the Outstanding Male Boxer in the entire Junior Division.

Also, Candice Carter of Towson, MD earned the silver medal in the Youth Female 112-pound class. The two medals raise the Beltway's final overall medal count to 12.

Congratulations to all our Beltway amateurs for outstanding work.  Also, special thanks to Rickey Womack of the Potomac Valley Association of USA Boxing and to Danica Nicole, Lorenzo Simpson's mother, who kept fans abreast of the progress of the locals throughout the competition through outstanding live videos on Facebook!
