The second and final semifinal night at the Washington Golden Gloves provided some exciting action, especially in the Open Division.
The 141-Pound semifinal was an outstanding bout as Tyrek Irby (Headbangers) defeated Brian Avelar (Sugar Ray Leonard) after a seemingly even two rounds, Irby took control in the third and final round to gain the win.
In the 165-Pound semi, Tavon Body (Headbangers) won a decision over Justin Hurd (Hillcrest). Body will be trying to win his third straight Washington championship.
Mansabory Conde (Odenton Fitness) captured the 152-pound semifinal with a win over Jonathan Burrs II (Headbangers)

The Washington Golden Gloves finals will be held on Saturday, April 2 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD beginning at 7:30 PM ET. The Conde decision over Burrs is an illustration of the problems with corruption in boxing that's made it's way well into the amateur ranks. Anyone who has set foot in a boxing ring and was in attendance Saturday night is scratching their heads on that decision. Where is your integrity Magruder, are you that hard up for 20 or 30 ticket sales that come with Conde from Silver Gloves? Any judge who didn't have Burrs shutting Conde out has absolutely know business judging fights because they are either blind, dumb, or corrupt. Something definitely smells foul about that decision. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.......
