Antoine "Action" Douglas has a new opponent for his Saturday, March 5 card at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, PA.
The new opponent for Douglas (19-0-1, 13 KO's) will be Avtandil "Tazman" Khurtsidze of Brooklyn, N.Y. by way of Kutaisi, Georgia (31-2-2, 20 KO's) for this 10-round contest. Khurtsidze has won eight straight since suffering his last loss, a 12-round unanimous decision to Hassan N'Dam for the interim WBA Middleweight title in Paris, France in October of 2010. Six of those wins have come by knockout.
Khurtsidze replaces Sam Soliman who has had issues with a bad knee and needs arthroscopic surgery.
The bout will be a co-feature contest on a Showtime Boxing: Special Edition telecast. Opening the telecast will be Fernando Guerrero's 10-round bout against Tony Harrison.
This means there will be three Beltway Boxers on national TV on March 5. Douglas and Guerrero are on Showtime and Tony Thompson's title bout against WBA Interim Heavyweight champion Luis Ortiz will be on HBO from the DC Armory.
