Changes On February 27 DC Card; Williams-Rodriguez March 12 Bout Scratched!

A few changes to some upcoming cards.  The Saturday, February 27th King's Promotions card at the Washington Convention Center has had some alterations.

The opponent for Laurel, MD middleweight Demond "D Best At It" Nicholson (15-1, 15 KO's) will now be Jose Valderrama of Manati, Puerto Rico.  Valderrama (4-12, three KO's) is no stranger to the Beltway region as this will be his fourth appearance in the area and his second time competing at the Convention Center.  Valderrama lost his last bout by four-round unanimous decision to Malik Hawkins on December 12 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, MD.  Valderrama is the only boxer so far to take Hawkins the distance.  Valderrama also faced David Grayton in August of 2015 and lost by sixth-round TKO.  Valderrama's last win came in DC as he took a four-round unanimous decision against previously undefeated Chris Alexander at the DC Armory in April of 2014.

Also, "The Vanilla Gorilla" Sam Crossed of Greenbelt, MD has a new opponent in Martez Williamson of Akron, OH. Williamson (1-9) won his pro debut in March of 2013 but has since lost nine in a row.

The scheduled bout between Thomas Snow and Stephon McIntyre is also off the card.

As far as Saturday, March 12 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, the entire card has been scratched.  This includes the scheduled 10-round bout between Thomas "Top Dog" Williams, Jr. and Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez.  The card could not be salvaged after the main event WBA Welterweight title bout between Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter was called off because of injuries Thurman suffered in a car accident.
