Undefeated Accokeek, MD super welterweight "Swift" Jarrett Hurd had a coming out party Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV as he scored an impressive sixth-round TKO over previously undefeated "Notorious" Frank Galarza. The bout was the main event of the ShoBox card on Showtime.
After an even two rounds, Hurd began to take over the contest eventually dropping Galarza in the fourth and later landing brutal shots to get the bout stopped at 59 seconds of the sixth round. With this big win, Hurd is now 17-0, 11 KO's while Galarza falls for the first time in his career and he is 17-1-2, 11 KO's.
Also on this card, Baltimore, MD middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow was stopped in the third round by highly-touted prospect Sergiy Derevyanchenko of Brooklyn, NY. Derevyanchenko took complete control of the bout from the opening bell, eventually stopping Nicklow at 2:18 of the third.
Nicklow falls to 25-8-3, eight KO's while Derevyanchenko remains undefeated at 7-0, five KO's.
